Although they will no doubt eventually part ways, these young adult grizzlies have decided to stick together for now. Grizzlies are often seen as terrifying hunters. Their power and speed are certainly not embellished, but grizzlies do have a tender side. From a distance, I spent hours watching these two meander across a field, often side-by-side. They frequently excavated the ground for rodents. The twins would periodically share affection in the way of a nudge or grunt and showed no hostility whatsoever. Yes, grizzly bears can be dangerous, but respect their space and always store food far from your tent and well-sealed when exploring grizzly country. Respect a grizzlies’ space, and they will nearly always respect yours. Sadly, the news only reports the rare exceptions.
